What Makes Dare to Be Different Special

Food is about bringing families together. Here at Dare to Be Different, there is nothing more important than family. We are a family-owned business and we fully believe the passion from our kitchen transcends directly to your table. 

Our Head Chef and the Creator of Dare to Be Different, Robin Jemal, loves experimenting in the kitchen and dining in great restaurants around the world, but above all else: she believes cooking should be fun and easy. This philosophy of casual gourmet is what makes the Dare to Be Different difference.

The Dare to Be Different Family Story

Robin Jemal grew up in a home where dazzling, delicious dishes were an everyday affair. She has been cooking and refining her style through years of taste testing (and lots of dirty pots and pans). The result is her signature Kosher Middle Eastern, traditional style—with a twist. In 2012, Robin began creating gourmet kosher meals for friends and family in and around New York City. The success and positive feedback led her to launch a catering company and publish two cookbooks filled with her unique spin on classic recipes.

It was not long before Robin’s daughter, Jennifer, joined our team and provided the inspiration for creating low-carb, keto-friendly, and plant-based crusts, crisps and gnocchis. As with the catering company, the new line of cauliflower-based pizzas started on the shelves of local grocers before exploding in popularity.

Cauliflower is Cauli-Power

Cauliflower is kind of our MVP around here, with many of our frozen products made almost entirely from the cruciferous vegetable. Why cauliflower? Cauliflower is 100% natural and nutrient-rich. One cup of raw cauliflower contains 77% of your recommended daily value of Vitamin C. This super veggie is also high in fiber, potassium, manganese and a good source of antioxidants.

When prepared properly, cauliflower is delicious. Have you ever had roasted cauliflower with a little salt, pepper and oil? Mm-hmm. Cauliflower stands above other kosher and gluten-free substitutes because of the way it crisps. For example, pizza crusts made from gluten-free dough can be soggy and limp—things you don’t want from a fresh New York slice, but cauliflower crust results in a nice, crisp bite.
